I have seen Tai Chi used for clients with Parkinson's.   When their meds were having therapeutic effect, they could participate in Tai Chi.  When their meds were not in effect, they couldn't participate in Tai Chi.

I'd like to see research that proves Tai Chi to be an effective therapy.  (We know that slow gentle stretching is good for ROM, however that doesn't explain why the use of Tai Chi with it's spiritual/philosophical undercurrents instead of simple, targeted stretching.

Subject: [OTlist] Tai Chi- Therapeutic intervention?

Hi, I'm a second year OT student and I'm currently looking into the benefits of Tai Chi as a therapeutic intervention.  I was wondering if anyone could put me in touch with any other OT's that are currently using Tai Chi.  Thanks.  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
