Hey Suzi,

It might be helpful if you give everyone more information about the facility,
what type of patients do they generally see, what will be your duties, etc?
Will it be a hospital outpatient department or a free standing clinic? Will
the census be neuro, orhto, a mix?

By the use of the term "sports rehab facility" I would assume you are referring
to a privately owned clinic. Will you be required to provide functional
capacity evaluations?

Subject: [OTlist] Help! New to outpatient

I am currently a practicing pediatric OT and have been asked to do some PRN
work for an outpatient rehab/sports rehab facility. They have no other OT's
on site so I have no one to consult with so.I am needing some input. I have
found some information from books and websites, but was curious to what
other therapists are actually using/doing in clinics. I need input on:

1) what types of evals do you usually use

2) what areas do you concentrate on in outpatient (continuation of
inpatient, home safety, ADL's.)

3) suggestions for treatment strategies

And anything else that might be helpful. I would REALLY appreciate any
suggestions from anyone. Thank you in advance for any input.

Suzi
