Hi all,

Thankyou all for very interesting topics throughout this list. I have been
both entertained and informed about OT life in other parts of the world. I'm
in my final year of occ sci and occ therapy in Australia, and am currently
doing my honours project this year. My topic is all about investigating the
meanings derived from engaging in leisure occupations by ageing community
members of a particular ethnic minority group in Australia. With this theme,
what are you beliefs of how effective the occupational therapy profession
and practitioners address leisure in practice and research; e.g. as compared
to self-care, productivity etc. From my practical experience during my
studies (especially in acute settings), i believe that leisure is not being
addressed to the depth that it should be with ageing clients, especially
from culturally diverse backgrounds. My research aims to improve this
problem.

It would be nice to hear your perspectives on this issue from an
international point of view.

Regards,

Robert Pereira
