Hello All: Question:
I have a client that is 3 years s/p CVA, 5 years s/p THR X2. He has pain in his proximal femur (distal to his greater trochanter)while ambulating but ONLY when he lets off the weight on his leg. He has no pain while weightbearing. He has been to an orthopod who reports no biomechanical problems with the THR. Although both the patient and I find this report suspicious. Does anyone have suggestions or experience with this type of situation (i.e. pain only during let off) and what treatment/compensation suggestions might be appropriate. Yesterday, I applied a compression bandage to his thigh while ambulating and he reported relief. But this doesn't really help me understand the situation.
