Below is a message from Chuck Wilmarth (AOTA) that I've posted with his
permission.

I know that legislation is not an easy thing to get involved in, but I
encourage any readers affected by the below message to do something.

Thanks,

Ron

The October 3 issue of OT Practice has an article about the status of
licensure initiatives in three states. If other list members live in
Colorado, Michigan or Indiana we need your help. For example in Indiana
we have set up a special webpage that allows Indiana practitioners to
write their legislators about the licensure bill:

http://www.congressweb.com/cweb4/index.cfm?orgcode=iota

Licensure is important because it creates a legally defined scope of
practice in state law. States need to push forward with initiatives to
revise the OT scope of practice to reflect contemporary practice. Of
course we recommend using the revised model definition of OT practice as
approved by the RA in 2004.
