Hi Judy!

There was a show on Discovery Health channel in the past week or two about a
bariatric LTC residence that helps people rehab and return to the community.
They have a full therapy setup just for the bariatric population. It was
really interesting.

Subject: [OTlist] OT and bariatric surgery

I am interested in talking to anyone who might be working with patients who
are preparing for or have had bariatric surgery. Please contact me directly
at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or at (770) 356-9344.
I am working on a project for my masters in conjunction with the hospital
where I work. We are investigating how to integrate OT into an already
existing program. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Some
questions I have are:
1. What is the scope of practice with this population?
2. What are the ADL needs that you most frequently encounter and how do you
intervene?
3. Are you part of the regular interdisciplinary team or a consultant only
if ADL issues are identified?

Thank you,

Judy Hamby, OTR/L, BCN
