Hello,

I am requesting some help/suggestions from members if they would be so kind
to take a moment. I have been practicing for 5 years, with 3 of them years
as a rehab director of a small team of seven in a skilled nursing facility.

Lately, I have felt more and more of an urge to step out on my own and begin
a private practice within my small community. The only competition I would
have is the local hospital, one out-pt center, and the local nursing homes.

I had initially thought of trying to get an out-pt facility going. I
recently was reading in one of the Advance magazines, that low vision was
the top ranked emerging practice area. We have no one that I know of in my
community providing low vision rehab.

I was considering taking a course by Mary Warren and possibly trying to
begin a practice in the area of low vision.

Here is the problem. I have no idea on what it takes to begin a practice.
This is definitely new ground for me. I am hoping that I can get some
suggestions on resources that will help lead me in the right direction in
creating a practice of my own. I need to learn everything from billing, to
running a business in general.

Thanks in advance,

Al Morrow
