csmithot, I hope that you reconsider renewing your AOTA membership. And I hope that your collegues renew as well. AOTA Membership is not a $225 magazine subscription, but rather a number of tangible and intangible benefits.
As I noted in my last posting to the listserv, the profession is facing a number of challanges. Perhaps you could provide information about the issues that you are facing in LTC to our reimbursement staff? AOTA offers a nubmer of resources to articulate the occupational therapy scope of practice and how OT is different than PT. AOTA supports occupation based practice; that is what makes OT unique. Chuck Willmarth Director, State Affairs AOTA >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 4/16/2006 5:37 PM >>> Happy Easter to everyone,I, too, am sorely disappointed with AOTA's unrealistic presentation of the profession. I am in LTC with big productivity requirements and mounds of paperwork. It is hard to explain to patients how we are different from PT as most of my fellow OTs don't practice occupational based therapy. Last time I voiced these opinions i was soundly critized by AOTA supporters. Most therapists I know have not renewed their membership and for the first time in the 9 years I have been practicing neither did I. OT Practice magazine is not worth $225. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! -- Unsubscribe?
