Rob THANK YOU for some aditional directions to look into. VERY much appreciated! Ron, I believe you're right and although I wouldn't normally fear bringing up the situation, I also don't want to come across as too confrontational regarding how things are done. Especially since I may be in a position to get a job there. It's not that anything is being done "wrong" per say. The team is excellent and very knowledgeable. I'm just agaist the whole idea of being pigeon-holed into being "ADL assistants". Admittedley I don't have anything to offer as way of constructive change for this (yet), but I would like to see/learn/practice more "skilled OT" therapies. Again, thanks to both of you for responding. Ron

However, I do want to take just one second to say forget what you wrote below. You may be only a 'student' but you are in a GREAT position to argue points of interest!!! In fact, this may be the BEST time to discuss issues and concerns that you may have. I'm sure some of what you read on OTnow conflicts with your teaching and I assure you that it will certainly conflict with what you see in practice. So, while your OT mind is just starting to develop, jump right in there and "fire away"!!
