Hello Pat:

It's my opinion that since you bill as a therapist, you may only bill
therapy codes. I do not find CPT 95201 in Medicare's therapy codes.

On a completely different note, I can't even find a reference to CPT
95201. What is it?

Thanks,

Ron

P> At the pain clinic I work for we have an extensive intake process
P> that includes an interview with the counselor, psych eval, PPT, and
P> history and physical. We used to have a dr that did the history and
P> physical, but he is gone now and I am doing them. The problem is...
P> how do I bill for those? Someone suggested to me that the CPT code
P> 95201 is outside of my scope, but the code for OT eval doesn't really
P> cover the extent of the H&P. It's a more extensive interview and
P> exam, which includes several orthopedic exams (tests that are usually
P> done by PTs, but I have been trained to do them). I thought I
P> remembered seeing a code for extended OT evals, but I can't find it
P> anywhere. I'm not even sure where to look to see if I can use the
P> 95201 code as an OT. Does anyone know?

P> Pat
