I am with you 100 %. The sad part is that 3 out of 5 OT/COTAS I work with 
passionately defend those tools as valid in our SNF setting. I have lost every 
battle I have fought regarding getting rid of pegs, cones a, putty and that ROM 
arch in our clinic. There seems to be an emotional attachement ( security 
blanket) to those tools that make us look like such a waist of time and 
resources to our clients. 
In my perfect world (lol), there should be some mandatory  occupationally-based 
training attached to our license renewal process . This will assist in getting 
rid of tools that aren't conducive to enhancing occupation but that have poor 
evidence-based status in specific settings.
 
How is that for radical...:)
