Hello Kristin and others:

The issues of "being involved" often comes up, especially when one
"complains" as much as I. I have only very limited experience being
involved with AOTA, but I have been involved with two state OT
organizations. For me, local and/or national organizations are not a
good fit for my learning, leading or participating styles. I am too much
of an "free thinker" and find that I get very frustrated with the "red
tape" that comes with any organization.

Each person has unique skills and needs. For me, the Internet has been a
wonderful resource for advocation. While for me, state or national
involvement is not likely to occur, I hope that some readers of this
list will one day assume such leadership positions. And, good for you
for getting and staying involved. After you graduate, don't forget to
keep it up! <smile>

Thanks,

Ron

K> It was commented that the problem should be solved at the AOTA level.
K> So my question is - are you involved? Have you participated in state
K> and national efforts? Sat on the board? etc.? I understand that the
K> problem is national, but I have witnessed many proactive efforts by
K> local therapists who have decided to become a part of the leadership

K> becomes involved in state associations; the issues are then more
K> prevalent to at the national level. Perhaps these thoughts are a
