The agent or the admin has to select the queue with the ticket to close 
in her "My queues" list via her preferences. Aditionaly the 
notifications has to be turned on, also via the preferences for the 
user.

No. A ticket gets older, even if its closed. The state of a ticket does 
not affect the age of a ticket.
