Hi Guy, Have you tried installing the Perl module manually. I had to do this for a few on my fedora core install.
Download http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/L/LD/LDS/GD-2.44.tar.gz Then follow the instructions on this site : http://www.cpan.org/modules/INSTALL.html Let us know how you get on.
