We are experiencing the same issues here in Maine via Time Warner Cable, anywhere from 20% to 80% loss, started at 6:00AM EST.
We use google's DNS as part of our monitoring to determine our internet connection status. Loss seems to start after a tbone.rr.com switch in NYC. 1 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms [Redacted] 2 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms [Redacted] 3 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms [Redacted] 4 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms [Redacted] 5 8 ms 8 ms 11 ms agg15.ptldme0201h.northeast.rr.com [24.58.29.48] 6 9 ms 9 ms 9 ms agg34.ptldmehx02r.northeast.rr.com [24.58.42.136] 7 12 ms 19 ms 14 ms be25.albynyyf01r.northeast.rr.com [24.58.32.64] 8 20 ms 23 ms 23 ms bu-ether16.nycmny837aw-bcr00.tbone.rr.com [66.109.6.74] 9 * * * Request timed out. 10 17 ms 17 ms * 72.14.232.109 11 * * 18 ms 108.170.235.81 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 * 18 ms 18 ms google-public-dns-a.google.com [8.8.8.8] ~Jason Robinson On Thu, Jan 5, 2017 at 10:28 AM, Phil Lavin via Outages <[email protected] > wrote: > The same discussion was had on the LINX mailing list when people stated > that packet loss only occurred on LINX and not on a transit provider. > Google piped in and said that rate limiting applies on various parts of > their network.
