Hi there folks,

I think your feedback makes a lot of sense. What I was trying to come to grips with
is why nearly all the guys on the US list seem to have pretty old Macs with Ati Radeon
PCI cards (buggered if I would even know where to find one for a PC, let alone a Mac
one), heaps of Ram and G3 upgrades....

I actually spend most of my days on peecees these days, so the Mac is really a hobby
more than anything else. I got it for free from a client (I should have taken the
7300 now I realise), and have managed to get some good bargains on ebay for RAM and
video card. I put the hard disk in myself, and will upgrade it to a 7200rpm drive if
I get a chance. I tried to upgrade to 8.6, but it died after I did the free upgrade
from Apple, so I went back to 8.5.

Truth to tell, I loaded up Limewire on the Mac, and thought watching paint dry was
faster than this ....

I also have an iMac in the house, a 600MHz DV SE. It is not used much now because the
hard disk sounds like the bearings are stuffed. Anyone know how to get one of these
beasties open to change the drive over?

Cheers

Gavin
