I have installed Gimp Print (DL'ed of the Net) to run my old HP DeskJet 1600CM
and it works fine.
After downloading Gimp Print, just go to the Print Centre, found in the Utilities Folder
in Applications, click on "ADD NEW PRINTER" , a dialog box will appear with all the
printer descriptions, click on your printer when you see it appear in the printer window.
Then, click on "Configure" and your printer SHOULD be set to go. Make sure you go to Epson's site first as they may have an OS X printer driver for your printer.

P.S. If all else fails GET YOUR G5 or an iMac. ;o))

I am also the proud owner of an Epson Stylus 600 printer which is working really well in OS9 and on the DarkSide box. My goal is to get it working in OSX (probably using Gimp Print).
Now my question is... How do I go about it. Has anyone achieved this feat. From trolling the net, it appears OSX recognises the serial ports. Just not printers attached.
Do USB to Parallel cables work? Are the various adapters which seem to be available useful and cost effective? Or should I just go out and buy a new printer (which rankles a bit! - reeks of giving in).
Any advice, consoling words or plain speaking "Give up, get a G5 and a new printer" would be much appreciated.
Of course I could always send it via the home network and print on the PC, but that doesn't seem right either.
