Hi Greg,

I was just making a joke, I doubt there are many people who can buy a new
computer every time something goes wrong or doesn't immediately work with
the old one. (Like buying a new car cause the old one's ash tray is full :)

In actual fact, I have a similar problem, which, whilst 'solved' isn't
ideal. I'll explain it none the less:
We have a parallel inkjet printer hooked up to an XP-Box running "PC
MacLan". This program allows computers to connect via AppleTalk, but also
allows print serving of any postscript printer.

Anyway, whilst setting up the PC Maclan system, I noticed the option to save
the files received by the print server to disk. Then I found another program
named "Ghost Script" which is used to print anything that appears in the
directory the server saves to. Kinda complex on paper, but it all makes
sense.

So, the PC is pretending to be a LaserWriter, which the Mac can see, and
prints too. The PC takes the information, and saves it in a specified
directory, then ghostscript prints it off.
I say it isn't ideal, because there doesn't seem to be a way to change print
settings (like draft/normal/best, colour, paper size etc) so the system just
uses the default set-up. Some cropping also happens sometimes.

If this isn't overly clear, I can answer any questions you like,

Wiebe.
