Just on the off-chance that someone may have a carcass of an early G4 lying
around, I would probably be interested in the 'modem filter'. My G4 'modem
filter' was fried in a lightning strike in February this year. Since then I
have been using an external modem on a G3 which works fine, but now I would
like to repair my G4 AGP400 which is fine except for the modem.

The modem filter is the small silver cube that is set just behind the back
panel and it includes the external RJ11 socket and a cable that snakes under
the motherboard to the modem on the motherboard.

I am assuming that the modem itself is OK otherwise what's the point of
having a filter!

The modem filter is available new, but the price doesnt justify doing the
repairs. (I suspect that the modem filter in the B&W G3 is the same as the
one in the G4).

Anyone?

cheers

Peter
