Here in NZ Telstra has joined forces with Clear Communications (now Telstra/Clear) as the great white hope against our local Monopoly "Telecom".
Telstra originally laid a fair amount of cable effectively creating a "parallel network" in some areas as Telecom would not play ball on equitable sub leasing arrangements.
For a while things looked quite hopeful (competition wise) but they have stopped laying any more cable since the merger.
Is Telstra seen as the Bully who do as they please over in OZ? (just as Telecom is over here?)
