I've done this several times, temporarily mounting the new drive in
an external usb/FireWire case.
Just format the disk, and drag the whole lot over, no special file
copying needed, unlike system X. Bit slow at usb1 speed.
Make sure that the user has no plans to install Panther, as it
requires an 8 Gig partition (on top or first) to run successfully, so
you could set the disk up to suit.

Hi there listers,
A friend of mine has an earlier iMac (400MHz I think), and the 10Gb
drive in it is getting low on space.
It doesn't seem too complicated to install a new 80Gb IDE hard
disk, but how to I do an exact copy of what he has on his existing
disk to the new one?
I know at my office they use Ghost to copy PeeCee hard disks, but
what do Mac people do?
It has OS9.2.2 on it at the moment.
Cheers
