No problem - worth a try, because those symptoms that
you describe are the ones I get when no DNS servers
are defined.

My ISP always said that they provided the DNS server
info to PPP during dialup login.  You can see it in
the text string but OS 9 PPP/TCP/IP never seemed to
find it.  From what you say, OSX is smarter.  I
haven't had cause to dialin with OSX because my OSX
machines sit on a LAN behind an OS9 machine acting as
a router/firewall.

If you can connect to your ISP successfully but can't
see the world outside that, then I still suspect DNS
or Gateway or Proxy server settings or similar.  One
way to tell is if you can Ping the outside world or
maybe use a direct IP address for a known site thus
bypassing DNS.
