Software Test Engineer Job Description 1. Evaluates the client application / systems for testing requirements and executes Functional Black Box Operational Qualification ( OQ ) testing and System Performance Testing( Stress, Volume & Load ) by using manual & automated tools and techniques. 2. Reviews User Specs , Functional and Design Specs to develop test plans and test cases, designs strategies for automating and executing the tests and supports this process by using STC standard templates & processes. 3. Researches and evaluates multiple solutions, and recommends the most efficient and cost effective testing solution by working closely with the Project Manager, Technical Lead and Business representatives to identify test requirements and test cases. 4. Is responsible for delivery of test documentation and test results to requirements specified in the test plan with agreed date and quality 5. On exceptional basis , may works closely with the Project & Business representatives to identify Performance Qualification ( PQ ) areas and test cases. 6. Helps integrate the Software Test Centre with mainstream IT departments and actively participates in furthering the maturity of the Software Test Centre through improving testing practices. 7. Providing technical advice/coaching to less experienced staff members, including business users seeking support in testing related activities. Minimum requirements • Advanced education in IT/ technology field or comparable education/experience (vocational level). • IT experience with preferably 4-6 years of relevant testing experience • Sound knowledge of the Windows or Unix Operating System. • Detailed knowledge of ORACLE or Sybase database systems • Experience in the use of automated testing tools like WINRUNNER, Quick Test Pro, QARun or Rational Robot • Experience in Performance testing tools like LoadRunner or QALoad • Broad knowledge of testing methodologies and standards • Very good communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent analytical and documentation skills • Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail • Good understanding of the SDLC • General understanding of application systems and network elements Thank you, Team SQAFYI - Software QA Resource FYI http://sqa.fyicenter.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Introduce business in 3800 cities.
