*Description* · Experience in designing, developing, and testing applications in multiple system environments. · Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. · Performs analysis of business models, logical specifications and/or user requirements to design solutions for the application environment. · Understands the various types of tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. · Can design an entire system configuration including hardware, software, and communications. · Can lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation. · Can work with various platforms, including mainframes, minis and micros. · Can define a total disaster recovery plan and present the client with various options. *Job Description – Data Conversion Architect * The Data Conversion Architect provides expertise throughout all phases of the project including data analysis, data conversion, data validation and documentation. The primary responsibilities include analysis of the data structures/standards, design and development of translation and validation reports, execution of manual and automated validation of converted data. *Responsibilities * · Responsible for determining and planning the conversion process and methodology for the ETL and SOA , analyzing and mapping data structures and formats, obtaining agreement from the teams regarding mapping and business rules, transforming the data as per requirements, testing and validating the conversions, reporting the results, and loading the transformed data to the new format. · Work closely with ETL developers & Cognos developers to provide solutions for complex data/reporting requirements. · Interface with Business partners and Subject Matter Experts to understand data requirements/structure, solve problems, troubleshoot issues and ensure data integrity. · Create detailed documentation on all aspects of the data analysis, conversion and validation process. · Perform ad hoc tasks as needed related to data analysis, conversion or translations such as receiving and transmitting files over the network, loading content into databases, converting images and graphics, and participating on special development tasks. *Qualifications* · Understanding of Best Practices in* ETL and SOA* development. Strong knowledge in *design*, development, testing, and implementing ETL jobs in IBM InfoSphere *Datastage 8.1. Experiences with MQ , WS and XML plug-ins, RTI packages in DataStage are required. * · Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience in* Oracle 10G and DB2 databases are required. Data modeling experience is a big plus. * · Solid knowledge in *UNIX shell scripting and SQL optimization. Experience in Solaris Platform is a plus.* · Good domain knowledge of Insurance industry is preferred.
