Responsibilities: * Work with program managers to understand issues on the workstation, then design and create specs for automated scripts that resolve those issues. * Develop PowerShell scripts that automate the repair of issues on the Windows 7 client workstation. * Create test cases that will exercise the developed Actions in a variety of realistic end user scenarios. Skills required: * Strong knowledge of, and ability to write code in, scripting languages. Power Shell experience preferred, but not required. Our automation scripts are written in PowerShell. * Ability to write code in C#. The execution framework for our PowerShell scripts is written in C#. * Ability to set up and run a rigorous source code control environment in Visual Studio TFS. * Experience with automation tools in Windows client OS, such as the task scheduler and the Windows Event Log, and how to trigger an action based on an event. * Understanding of systems management concepts * 3 - 5 years of industry experience in coding, testing and engineering solutions through all phases of the software development cycle * A strong desire to deliver a great experience to users on the MSIT workstation platform. * Analytical skills and the ability to understand the workflow of a Help Desk support article. * Team work: You will interact with our Program Managers and developers to design the Actions, and to create appropriate test cases. * A can-do entrepreneurial attitude is required because you will need to produce creative solutions in a short period of time, to address short to medium term user issues. * Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
