Tester: Redmond, WA Client: Microsoft Responsibilities: * You'll design, develop, test and deliver into production, a set of Actions (automated scripts) that address common desktop issues. Your work will transparently streamline the end user experience, avoiding the productivity hit and calls to the Help Desk! * Create a test plan for each of our existing Actions, then set up and operate our test environment. As new Actions are developed, you will be expected to plan and execute appropriate test cases for them. * Develop PowerShell scripts that automate the repair of issues on the Windows 7 client workstation. * Work with program managers to understand issues on the workstation, then design and create specs for automated scripts that resolve those issues. Skills required: * Strong experience in Microsoft's test practices. * Knowledge of, and ability to write code in, scripting languages. Power Shell experience preferred, but not required. All our automation scripts are written in PowerShell. * Knowledge of, and ability to write code in, C#. The execution framework for our PowerShell scripts is written in C# * 3 - 5 years of industry experience in coding, testing and engineering solutions through all phases of the software development cycle * Team work: You will interact with our Program Managers and developers to design and validate the test cases appropriate for the Actions that are created. * File bugs against the test cases, and track those bugs through resolution. * A strong desire to deliver a great experience to users on the MSIT workstation platform. * Analytical skills and the ability to understand the workflow of a Help Desk support article. * Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
