Paul: Many thanks for that. We were waiting to be confident that it should be possible to make it work before ordering any hardware (he is remote from me so cannot try it out with mine) but will now get some on order.
I can't actually see the windows binaries on sourceforge. I have looked on https://sourceforge.net/projects/owfs/ and in Browse All Files. Probably it is there in plain view and I just cannot see it.
