Hi Dave. I don't know about size of the ultimate audience, but it would be nice to have a good hardware solution to control of the DS1821?
I would like to add the 16 pulse as an option, if it is possible. (clearly would still need outside control for the Vdd control). One possibility I came up with back in 2004 is to use a DS2409 hub chip as the multi-drop controller, a 2N700DW and a couple resistors. I also have some better answer if needed. It should also be possible to do the reset (once you take care of the hardware problem) with overdrive speeds I believe. But again there are some better hardware answers for 1-wire thermostats.
