Ok, I just soldered one up and plugged it in.  I get roughly the same 
error:
/mnt/owfs# cat 1D.1D2805000000/counters.*
cat: 1D.1D2805000000/counters.A: Invalid argument
cat: 1D.1D2805000000/counters.ALL: Invalid argument
cat: 1D.1D2805000000/counters.B: Invalid argument
