Yes. I know nvram isn't used.. but I thought it was available anyway. It's
working on my kamikaze 7.07 installation on wrt54g.
I just wanted to make sure that Asus users DON'T start owfs and read the
serial-port which hangs the kernel. and that's not good during a startup.
Perhaps I should remove those checks in the owserver.init script and make
sure the user change the ENABLESTARTUP flag instead.
Nice to hear the binaries started. I haven't seen that ds2781K chip, and I
have no clue what you mean with "Meraki mini serial interface".
Paul, do you know some more about this?

Subject: [Owfs-developers] Re :Re: MIPS vs MIPSEL in OWFS
Hi,
Here are my takes on installing OWFS in Kamikaze big enadian: it installed
OK with all libraries for MIPS (big endian), and file system looks alright.
But while running OWFS, I've a few problems.
1. I tried "owfs -d /dev/ttyS0 /mnt/1wire". It fails with "DEFAULT: Cannot
detect DS9097 (passive) interface on /dev/ttyS0". This is probably because,
OWFS can not read the Maxim DS2781K chip that we are using for voltage
sensing.
Maxim chip pin out: DQ: Data i/o,
PIO: Programmable i/o,
P-: GND,
B+/B-: Battery sensing.
Our Meraki mini serial interface is a J1 4-pin with: Vcc, Tx, Rx, and GND.
Do you have any suggestion?
Other things to report:
2. When I tried "run-owfs", it gives me error in the script file: owserver.
This is because, owserver has "nvram" commmand to check if the router is an
ASUS router with its boardtypes, etc. But Kamikaze 7.07 doesn't support
nvram anymore. So, this is not working with our Meraki Mini AP.
3. The serial device is supposed to be in "/dev/ttyS0" in our setting, so
did some modification in the script.
Thanks.
