Well, the DS2409 certainly has it's problems. It works ok for a single depth
of branching, but gets rather complex in deeper topologies. I regret not
arbitrarily limiting branching in OWFS from the start.
Alternatives:
The DS2482-800 (i2c) adapter has 8 1-wire lines.
The Link-Hub transparently segments the network.
OWFS accepts any number of adapters and makes the union transparent.
