I don't of course :-)

I setup 2 of the identical PCBs. Both of them do not work. One
of them I checked with an oscilloscope.
1) The TX signal from the RS232 is correctly transfered to the DS2480B.The
DS2480B is
not answering however.
2) Then I played with the polarity pin. Tying POL to high changes the output
voltage of on RX on
the DS2480B, but still does not yield a response.
3) I never observed any activity on the 1 wire bus.

I came up with the following scenarios:
1) There is an systematic error in the circuitry. Hence both of them do not work
2) The DS2480B of both PCBs is broken
3) The DS2480B of the PCB I scrutenized with the oscilloscope is broken. The
other PCB
has a fabrication issue (like a soldering joint not producing an electrical
contact)
4) OWFS might have an issue with DS2480B.
5) Supply voltage insufficient

(5) The measured supply voltage is close to 5 V. That should be fine.
(4) I understand that the DS9097U uses the DS2480B, and works fine with OWFS.
(2) This I find unlikely
(3) I lost my probes for the oscilloscope. Hence I can currently not validate
(3) and measure the signals
on the second PCB as well.
(1) This is the most likely scenario. There is however Michael's circuit
a) Michael has a similar circuit to mine and the DS9097U
b) Michael receives the same error messages from OWFS
c) Looking at the data sheet of DS2480B, I do not find any mistakes in the
circuitry -- neither in Michael's nor in mine. I attached it -- please have a
look yourself.

Thanks
Tilman
