Using a DS2406 for 2-wire control is a very interesting application. You are
right, it would be great to support it under owfs (owfs.org)

I am copying this note to Peter Polm, the author of the program to see if he
can offer either a description of the software algorithm, or source code in
some language that can be adapted.

Clearly OWFS is open-source (under the GPL) and Peter would have to be
comfortable that our software support would be under that same licence. In
the past, this not been an impediment with the AAG TAI8570 barometer, the
HA7Net, the LINK, the LinkLocator, or the HobbyBoards and Dallas devices. We
take great pains to properly and eagerly give attribution to inventors and
contributors.

Subject: ows SHT11 humidity sensor and ds2406
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dear Paul, thanks for your help with the solar sensor, it works as
expected

I now constructed the humidity sensor based on Sensiron SHT11. This is
2-wire device, but apparently it can communicate with DS2406 as shown here
http://shtxx.tripod.com/

The question is whether owfs can support it, because so far, I failed with
reading it.

/opt/owfs/bin/owfs -d /dev/ttyS0 /root/hddtemps/tmp0
shows the structure of 2406 but I am unable to read humidity and
temperature...

How to do that?
Thanks in advance,
Piotr
