While we are on this subject (and apologies for slightly diverting the
original thread):

My previous network was the standard, single wire, with the controller
at one end of the long wire - as per recommendation.

Because I really don't know enough about digital signalling & timing,
reflections, etc, I need to pose this question:

If I change my network from this to a long wire with the controller
somewhere *in the middle* (ie: a star with only 2 legs), are there any
special things I need to consider to maintain reliability?

Does it matter if the master is *exactly* center, or, say, 1/3 & 2/3 split?

And does anybody terminate the ends of their cable?
