Cross topic question: What kind of DS2408 based LCD are you using? Can you give
me
a part-no?

Thanks and Greetings

Betreff: [Owfs-developers] Raspberry & 1wire

Hi,

I've been using 1wire for a long time on a PC using a ds2480b based serial
adaptor. My bus has become quite long and I'd like to split it up. A
raspberry (b2) hanging around in the upper floor seems to be a good
choice.

Now my Question: What is the easiest way to connect my 1wire bus? I'd like
to connect some ds18s20 and ds2408 (lcd).

I have samples of ds2480b and ds2482-800. I don't have a max3232 around to
convert serial between 3,3V and 5V. Pin7 (GPIO4) is used by DHT22 humidity
sensor, but possibly I can use another pin for that one.
I usually solder using breadboard-pcbs and use old floppy cables to
connect the chips like ds2408.

So, to sum up: If I can build my 1wire bus with any of the above
components I'd be happy if I get a schematic :)

Oh, and before I forget: for the bus I need 5V, of course. I'm going to
connect at least one hd4470 LCD with backlight. Currently I supply the
raspberry with micro USB power. I think I can't draw a lot out of the GPIO
5V pin in this configuration, so most likely I'll have to move the power
supply to the GPIO anyway. Any hints on that?

Markus
