But the only available incarnation of a DS2490 based adaptor is the DS9490 and that one doesn't have a 5V->12V converter on board. Plus, the DS2490 isn't available outside of a DS9490 anymore.
So you have the choice to either use a DS2480B based adaptor (like the DS9097) or modify an existing DS9490 to have VPP connected to 12V. OWFS doesn't know other adaptors which allow EPROM programming and so, doesn't support it for any other adaptor.
