Hi,
we just exchanged the computer, instead Linux a windows device at the USB-cable and started onewireViewer.
no other owfs is running on the connected linux system.
After the built following trace showed up, somehow the sensors are not found.
/opt/owfs/bin/owserver -d ftdi:i:0x0403:0x6001 --debug -p 4304

With exactly the same setup as you have it now?
I have to admit, I'm a bit lost. We have no obvious error messages about
or from the host adaptor chip, it just doesn't work.
Please check you haven't any other owfs related programs started.
---
If you are curious, you can also check whether the latest version from
the git archive fixes it for you. Johan Ström has put FTDI support into
the code. You need libftdi development packages installed for this, too.
$ git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/owfs/code owfs-code
$ cd owfs-code
$ ./bootstrap
$ ./configure --with-libftdi-config=<path to your libftdi-config or
libftdi1-config>
$ make ; sudo make install
When you have built it, start owserver with
# owserver -d ftdi:i:0x0403:0x6001 --debug
I don't think that it makes a difference but who knows?
Kind regards
Jan

the git archive fixes it for you. Johan Ström has put FTDI support into
the code. You need libftdi development packages installed for this, too.
$ git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/owfs/code owfs-code
$ cd owfs-code
$ ./bootstrap
$ ./configure --with-libftdi-config=<path to your libftdi-config or
libftdi1-config>
$ make ; sudo make install
When you have built it, start owserver with
# owserver -d ftdi:i:0x0403:0x6001 --debug
I don't think that it makes a difference but who knows?
Kind regards
Jan
