I use this:

It requires a moteino (arduino clone) to run shutdown and power management apps
(and RF comms if you get one with RF). I also have to moteino send battery
voltage, events, and status updates to Pi. A non-RF variant costs $10. If you
go this route, I have a redone state-machine sketch I can send you. I also
have daughter boards for the Pi to mount these on (they also have a footprint
for a DS2483 1Wire bus master).
