This would be an overall good thing for everyone, the new users will have a better, faster, more free OS, and the linux users number will increase encouraging companies to consider linux support more seriously, for example Mediatek with no linux drivers for their new wifi chips (I just replaced the wifi chip in my my mum's new laptop and didn't complain enough yet :) ). I have recently found out about oxford LUG, and would like to know if anyone else here has anything simillar planned, whatever stage it's at - even if it's just pondering about it. Working together would benefit us all.
