I guess my point is that oXygen doesn't try to validate text files, for
example. It would be nice if oXy could tell whether a given HTML file
was intended to be valid XML or not, and if not, not try to validate it.
But turning off Validate-as-you-type is fine for me.

Yes, the error is caused by a SGML DTD. The oXygen validator
validates only XML DTDs and XML documents that are conformant with

Maybe this is because the DTD is an SGML DTD rather than an XML
one? I don't know, but it seems strange for a W3C DTD to be called
erroneous!
Incidentally, I think this DOCTYPE declaration was added by HTML
Tidy, or possibly by an HTML editor program.
