Do you have any zip archive with many files on the Desktop? Do you have
a network drive that is currently disconnected or not available still
mapped in the filesystem of the computer running oXygen? These are
possible causes of the delay.

We experienced this delay only with the update 2 of the Java 1.6.0
virtual machine from Sun Microsystems, that is Java version 1.6.0_02.
It
was already recorded as a bug in Sun's database:
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6578753
and we added a note on the Download page that this JVM update is not
supported due to this bug. Is your Java version 1.6.0_02? You can see
that in the System properties tab of the Help -> About dialog, the
java.vm.version property.
