Yep, it's the underlying framework, the overall consistency, the powerful well organised base class library, the large developer community and the encouragement you get to write well structured modular apps. .NET is the most productive development environment I've ever used (Silverlight, WPF and WCF are excluded from that statement). Will someone coming from Delphi feel more familiar with VB or C#? It looks vaguely halfway between the two styles. Isn't Delphi a first-class .NET language now?
