Sometimes stripping image metadata from a camera shot is a good thing.  Before 
posting it on the internet, for instance, if you don't want data cross matching 
on camera ID, location, etc to happen.  Often you don't care about it, but 
sometimes you do :) 

 

Yep! I read an article on this earlier in the year where some celebrity had 
camera photos on their web site with metadata inside and someone plotted all 
the GPS locations against the photos and easily figured out the home address 
and movements of the person. This is great if you’re showing friends an 
interactive map of your world holiday, but not if you’re a communist terrorist 
undercover double agent -- Greg
