Seriously? Apps are an important part of the whole smartphone experience, and all those new shiny WP8 apps that will start coming out once WP8 is popular, will not run on an expensive, flagship, Lumia phone that someone just purchased.
If Microsoft's strategy is to say "buy a new phone every xyz months", then at least be up-front about that. And people can then make informed decisions about how much they want to spend each year. If I know that I have to throw away my old devices every 12 months, then I'll spend corresponding less on each individual device. If I have some confidence that I can keep the device working with the latest software, then I can spend more on an individual device, knowing that the investment is probably protected.
