Stephen

I received the same. The From that I see is Microsoft Visual Studio
<[email protected]>

The domain you quoted - e-mail.microsoft.com - doesn't look dodgy to me - it
just has the .email. pre-pended to Microsoft's main domain.

But examining the headers, there is email.microsoftemail.com which DOES
look more suspicious.

(I haven't yet acted on the offers)

Subject: Fwd: Announcing Windows Store and Windows Phone Developer accounts
for MSDN Subscribers

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone else got this email? Against my better judgement
(that e-mail.microsoft.com email address looks SO dodgy) I clicked the
links. It took me to live login (real url and certificate in browser) and
then directed me to my MSDN subscription account. My real one. Ok, so I'm
pretty convinced its a real email from Microsoft. So I ask myself (and you
guys) whats with that From email address? Seriously, with the phishing that
goes on these days (I took a calculated risk clicking the links in the
emails (which I removed because its related to my msdn) it looks plain bad.
Figured my antivirus would tell me if I was on a dodgy site and I'd check
the actual urls of course). I'm shocked Microsoft don't have a rule they
have to use a known domain name.

thoughts? comments? Am I paranoid? (yes, but wrongly so?)
