Aah - re-reading your post: to synchronize across computers, with Windows 8 - isn't there something about nominating or identifying the machines when you set up? That's done via Windows Live (or whatever it is called now), and allows you to synchronize your profile, app settings, and other data across multiple computers or devices. Single sign-on?
In any case, I do know that when I am using my Dropbox or SkyDrive, the uploading to the cloud can be very slow; the synch from cloud to your Windows 7 would be faster of course (asynch internet) but will take some time to occur. _____ Ian Thomas Victoria Park, Western Australia From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ian Thomas Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2013 8:23 PM To: 'ozDotNet' Subject: RE: [OT] SkyDrive account I'm not sure what happens with an Office 13 installation - which does I think utilize SkyDrive if you want - but SkyDrive by itself does use a Windows application that you download and install. You should then see a new folder in Windows 7 (Explorer), and it synchronizes files and folders OK for me. _____ Ian Thomas Victoria Park, Western Australia From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Greg Keogh Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2013 7:13 PM To: ozDotNet Subject: [OT] SkyDrive account Folks, I put some files into my SkyDrive account on Windows 8, then I installed SkyDrive on Windows 7 and logged in with the same account but I see it empty. I was hoping and expecting to see the same virtual drive and contents from anywhere so long as I used the same account. Is this the expected behaviour? Has anyone fiddled with SkyDrive much? I'm just futzing around with it to see what it can do -- Greg
