An app was trying to talk to the outside world, and it turned out the author of the C++ code was not familiar with PASV and once he flipped that on in code everything worked. I wasted days on testing with ftp.exe not realising that it didn't support PASV mode.
Today I just want to get a vanilla IIS FTP site working. Greg K
