pawpaw ointment

Hi all,   Could someone please tell me whether pawpaw ointment is being advocated for cracked and painful nipples these days? I was under the impression that hindmilk was best for this and that the reason ointments aren't used these days was because of impurities in creams ans ointments and trauma to nipples when removing them. I understood this to be a policy in the BFHI. Am I wrong or just behind what research suggests? Di.
