Dear Colleagues The article destined to be in the Sydney Morning Herald today was bumped by the Coroners inquest findings and missing snow boarders. I talked to Julie Robotham today who wrote the article and she said she was going into bat to try and get it published tomorrow. This however is the problem: The radio dont pick up something the papers havent. The papers think it is a local issue. So whilst the Newcastle Herald has been interested and I have just been interviewed on the local radio, the bigger papers almost wait until one of them think its newsworthy. Its a strange world but thats how it works. Now I have sent the NSWMA Press Release to every Medical writer in NSW, every Radio Station, every TV Station and all the relevant politicians. If Sydney Morning Herald runs the story tomorrow we will be on our way. But we need to make this news and I welcome any suggestions on how to do this. If the Queens Corgis get mentioned the Newcastle Team Programme deserves a public defence and we have got to do our damnedest to get that. I will post below a heap of fax numbers to all the meida outlets and politicians in NSW. Write and send copies of your wonderful letters to them. Lets push this issue because its not just a local issue, its national shame!!!
