Surrounded by the touch of friendship and concern,
surrounded by the hopes of people caring trying to learn.
I am warmed from the inside out and outside in,
the foundation of our future as I watch it begin.
Beauty compassion shines as the sun, bathing all who embrace,
feeling our unity as the rays of light caress our face.
words not in anger but striving to show to light, the way,
feeling hearts beat in unity stronger growing each and every day.
Hospital or home the touch should be the same,
If not with woman there is no-one else to blame.
We raise our standards high and march in peaceful force,
to quash the dictators who castrate and endorse,
the over through of nature of beautiful birth.
They cannot see to work for the same end is all it is worth.
To nurture and marvel at the goddess reborn
to see the miracle of new life birthed not torn,
out from a shell and nothing more,
all dignity and respect thrown to the floor.
For the woman is sacred her body divine,
natures culmination on holy work and design.
We who care so privilidged we are to see,
the magical enchantment of all that can be.
Midwives, doulas carers through and through,
the really lucky ones are woman too.
Hope you all don't mind the indulgences I keep taking.

I open my heart and words of love pour.
As midwife you touch so many, near and dear,
taking from them their worries their fear.
Giving them back their strength and power.
watch them blossom and flower.
You are my lover, my partner and my friend,
In midwifery and life I'll be with you 'til th end!
